Bachem continues its commitment to peptide chemistry at the University of Basel
In the past few years, the project has led not only to a large number of scientific publications, but also to international recognition. Key points of focus in research are - and will continue to be in the coming years - the molecular identification of peptides with the aim of developing specific diagnostic agents and new materials, the selective cleavage of peptides for use e.g. in the area of protein sequencing and the development of catalytically active peptides. Future research will also explore the properties of functionalized polyprolines, which offer potential applications in both material sciences and life sciences. The research program also comprises collaborations with the Biozentrum and the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Basel as well as with international research institutions. The research conducted in the framework of the Bachem Professorship for Peptide Chemistry is not subject to any legal claims on the university by the company.
