Asssessing comparability of CDV across most established automated cell counting platforms
Facilitate cell culture work and technology transfer
Cell density and viability (CDV) are critical process parameters in many cell culture applications for biologics development and production. Automated cell counting has become the gold standard in many applications, while some offer on-line measurement. As a variety of cell counting platforms is used within companies or collaboration projects, the ability to exhibit comparability across platforms is crucial for facilitating cell culture work and technology transfer. Using actual process data, this paper compiles CDV comparability data generated on the BioProfile FLEX2 from 2016 until 2020. Numerous cell lines and densities have been tested against the most popular automated cell counters in the industry, including the BioProfile FLEX, Beckman Coulter Vi-CELL XR, Roche Cedex and others. This data set is a compilation from 41 separate cell culture processes and four of the most common industrial cell lines, CHO, HEK293, SF9, and Vero cells.
