Ariadne Genomics and Jubilant Biosys Announce Strategic Alliance
Providing Curated Metabolic, Signaling, and Disease Pathway Databases as an Add-on to Pathway Analysis Software
PathwayAssist is popular desktop software for visualization and analysis of biological pathways, gene regulation networks and protein interaction maps. The software exploits proprietary Natural Language Processing technique to automatically extract biochemical facts from scientific literature.
Jubilant's PathArt product is the world's largest database of manually curated pathways, encompassing over 600 signaling and metabolic pathways. PathArt includes over 15 in-depth curated disease pathways, covering cancer, Alzheimer's', Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Asthma, Arthrosclerosis, HIV, RA and Diabetes. With the new alliance, users of PathwayAssist will have an option to access manually curated databases of molecular interactions from PathArt for an additional fee.
"The combination of PathwayAssist and PathArt brings together the power of Natural Language Processing and manual curation", said Dr. Sreenivas Devidas, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Jubilant Biosys Limited. "Researchers in the Pharmaceutical industry and academia will now be able to obtain comprehensive mapping of their data in the context of biological pathways."
"Scientists involved in academic research and drug discovery need to have comprehensive pathway knowledge at their fingertips, with the ability to visualize and analyze it together with their research data", said Dr. Ilya Mazo, President of Ariadne Genomics. "We believe that signaling pathway databases from PathArt will be an essential addition to our PathwayAssist software, providing researchers with a comprehensive toolset for pathway analysis."
PathwayAssist is distributed by Stratagene as a part of the IobionLab suite of biological software tools. PathArt database for PathwayAssist will be available from Stratagene. Stratagene will start distributing the PathArt database for PathwayAssist early this spring.
