Meeting UHPLC Needs with High Purity Water
In recent years, the advent of Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) has broadened the scope of laboratory applications, making it possible to attain extremely low detection limits. Certain requirements exist, however, when working with this very sensitive analytical technique: high purity water, solvents and reagents are necessary in order to take full advantage of the UHPLC technique and to achieve representative analytical data. In particular, water needs special attention because it is used throughout the analysis, from sample, buffer, and mobile phase preparation to column rinsing and system washing. A series of experiments using water from a Milli-Q® water purification system demonstrated that freshly produced ultrapure water is suitable for UHPLC analyses
