CCS starts cooperation for the development of cell based assays

23-Mar-2004

G-Protein coupled receptors are one of the most promising therapeutic targets for different diseases. For the development of new drugs there is a need for specific tests that enable a selective screening of potential candidates. Recombinant cell lines are an effective and scalable form of a physiological relevant assay.

CCS Cell Culture Service GmbH, which has focused on the construction of recombinant cell lines for target- and drug validation, will cooperate with Schering AG on the field of assay development. Starting from a target of interest, CCS constructs stably transfected cells lines that are specifically adjusted to the needs of an individual assay. So, CCS provides its cooperation partners as Schering AG an increase in efficiency and flexibility for the development of screening assays to identify highly specific drug candidates.
