Under the terms of the agreement, Sysmex America will have the exclusive right to distribute the CellaVision(TM) DM96 and will be responsible for the system's sales, marketing and service support. CellaVision's U.S. subsidiary, headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, will continue to provide service support to CellaVision's existing U.S. customer base. The CellaVision DM96 Digital Cell Morphology System will be showcased in the Sysmex exhibit booth from March 28 - 30 at the CLMA/ASCP 2004 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia.
"The value-added contribution that the CellaVision DM96 Digital Cell Morphology System will bring to our hematology solutions offering will greatly enhance the quality of results and the productivity of laboratories performing high-volume testing," said John Kershaw, COO, Sysmex America, Inc.
"This product distribution agreement with Sysmex America, which marks the continuation of our companies' collaboration that first began in 2001 with Sysmex Europe GmbH, represents an extraordinary opportunity for CellaVision to significantly expand its market presence in the United States. We look forward to extending our working relationship with this highly regarded diagnostics company," said Yvonne Martensson, CEO, CellaVision AB.
The CellaVision DM96 locates, identifies, and pre-classifies blood cells by means of automatic microscopy and advanced image processing thereby minimizing workload and producing faster results.
