ComGenex Announces Award of Grant Funding for New Nanotechnology Subsidiary

31-Jan-2003

Thales nanotechnology, a newly formed subsidiary of ComGenex, Inc. involved in exploring the use of continuous flow chemistry with nanotechnology in the field of drug discovery, has been awarded a Small Business Incentive grant from a Hungarian Government agency. "The grant is intended to finance the development of a tool that integrates continuous flow production with microfluidic processes in a single glass chip that can be used for performing chemical reactions and their work up," said Alex Drijver, CEO of Thales Nanotechnology.

"Our pilot studies have shown very promising results and this grant underlines the relevance of our work in this field," commented Dr. Laszlo Urge, CEO of ComGenex.

Dr. Ferenc Darvas, President of ComGenex and of Thales Nanotechnology added, "Nanoscale technology has a number of benefits for combinatorial chemistry and other chemistry applications. The processes and technology used by Thales have the potential to significantly improve reaction times leading to an increase in efficiency in the synthesis of compound libraries with the benefit of higher purity."
