BIPSO GmbH

BIPSO GmbH was created by a transfer of operations from Nycomed GmbH to Bracco Imaging S.p.A. Therefore, the production facilities and buildings of BIPSO GmbH and those of Nycomed GmbH are located on the same site, the industrial park in Singen. Before the transfer of operations, Nycomed GmbH (previously Byk Gulden, then Altana Pharma) had already been producing for Bracco for over 25 years.

BIPSO GmbH currently employs around 280 people and produces high-quality contrast media that are sold in over 90 countries. In addition, sterile products are manufactured on behalf of other pharmaceutical companies.

Quality and reliability are of utmost importance in our company. Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths as well as a strong team spirit characterize the working atmosphere in our company.

BIPSO GmbH in Singen is the Bracco Group's most important production site for sterile pharmaceuticals.

Other sites where finished goods are produced are located in Canada, Switzerland, Italy, China and Japan.

Contrast media improve the imaging of structures and functions of the body in X-rays, computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound examinations. Different contrast media are used depending on the examination procedure. For example, X-ray examinations, which include computed tomography, use contrast media containing iodine, which absorb X-rays more strongly than normal soft tissue. In this way, blood vessels that would otherwise not be visible become visible on the X-ray image.

In Germany, we offer the well-known and proven contrast media Imeron® and Solutrast® for CT and X-ray examinations, MultiHance® and ProHance® for MR examinations, and Sonovue® for ultrasound examinations. The range also includes very specific medical products, e.g. injectors and medical disposables, e.g. for colonic diagnostics.
