About Lygature
Lygature was created from CTMM and TI Pharma to help preserve the expertise built up over many years, and to support new initiatives, including any arising from the Dutch government. Lygature is a not-for-profit foundation within which seasoned professionals give their best to make partnerships succeed, both nationally and internationally. Roots in the Netherlands mean strong links with the Dutch innovation infrastructure, but Lygature operates independently from the Dutch government. TI Pharma was launched in 2007 as the first life sciences ‘top institute’ in the Netherlands, (co-)funded from the proceeds of Dutch natural gas resources through the Fund for Economic Structure reinforcement (FES). It had a budget of EUR 274 million and focused on the development of new medicines. TI Pharma was soon followed by CTMM with a budget of EUR 300 million. CTMM was the first partnership to successfully integrate two converging fields of research: molecular diagnostics and imaging, with an initial focus on cardiovascular disease and oncology.
