EPED®
Gas chromatography detector for fluorine and sulfur compounds
IMT Innovative Messtechnik GmbH
Easy mounting on any gas chromatograph
The Echelle Plasma Emission Detector EPED® has been developed for quantitative multi-element analysis and is based on the excitation of atoms in a helium microplasma. The spectral data are recorded by a high-resolution Echelle spectrometer and element specific evaluated. Due to the direct coupling of the GC column with the quartz plasma cell detection limits of <10 pg / s and good linearity can be achieved over 3-4 decades.
The detector is equimolar and can be calibrated with one substance only. The determination of the mass of an element (e.g. total fluorine) is possible and in contrast to the analysis with a mass spectrometer the EPED® will save time at a reliable level.
With the EPED® the following elements can be simultaneously detected :
- Fluorine
- Sulfur
- Chlorine
- Bromine
- Iodine
The atomic emission detector EPED® is suitable as a single detector or in combination with a mass spectrometer. Furthermore, the compact detector is characterized by low maintenance and therefore cost-optimized operation.
