Octave BIO is an LC-instrument that replaces the classic, large-column liquid chromatographic purification of biomolecules with the cyclic use of several small columns. The better utilization of the stationary phase results in enormous savings potential for the purification of antibodies, antibody fragments, peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides.

Multi-column chromatography is a bioprocessing technique that uses small process columns to continuously load and process a product stream and generate purified products with comparable yield and product quality under high throughput conditions. Typically, these MCC columns have a shorter bed height and enable processing at faster flow rates to achieve greater efficiencies.

The benchtop system is equipped with six pumps, inlets, and outlets, can operate up to 8 columns, and offers flow rates from 1 mL/min up to 300 mL/min.
