The Cell Force Analyzer (CFArefer) provides users with a precise and reliable way to measure mechanical forces (stresses) in eukaryotic cell layers and detect their changes due to biochemical, pharmacological or mechanical influences. The device uses an ultra-thin, flexible and biocompatible PDMS membrane, which serves as the bottom of a cell culture cylinder (CellDrum) and creates a safe environment for the cells. This innovative technology enables not only detailed mechanobiological studies, but also non-biological material tests where surface tensions need to be measured. The CFArefer supports a wide range of research applications thanks to its versatility and universal applicability. Advantages include a compact design, ability to sterilize the sample chamber, precise temperature monitoring, high reproducibility, fast measurements and automatic data evaluation.
