Aventis Pharma Goes Live On Ariba Buyer
FRANKFURT, Germany, February 11, 2002 - Ariba, Inc. the leading Enterprise Spend Management solution provider, today announced that Aventis Pharma is rolling out the Ariba® Buyer(TM) eProcurement solution at three major sites worldwide after going live in less than eleven weeks of initial implementation work.
Aventis Pharma is using Ariba Buyer, an integral part of the Ariba® Spend Management(TM) solution, to improve the management of supply and services procurement by electronically aggregating enterprise-wide spending from user desktops and directing this to preferred suppliers, resulting in reduced costs, streamlined processes, and improve trading partner relationships.
Ariba Buyer is integrated into Aventis Pharma's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems from several ERP vendors and is currently running at the Aventis Pharma headquarters in Frankfurt, Aventis Pharmaceuticals North American headquarters in Somerset/USA, and at the production site Neuville-sur-Saone in France. Aventis Pharma has initially focused on six different commodity categories. Over the coming months further categories will be added. Aventis Pharma is currently going live with an additional 12 sites and will deploy the solution at all other sites in North America, Brazil and Europe by the end of 2002 with approximately 20,000 active users.
