Eurofins Scientific Group acquires Steins Laboratorium A/S
Now Market leader in the Scandinavian food testing market
Steins Laboratorium was founded in 1857 and is a well-established brand in Denmark and Sweden for laboratory testing of food, feed and agriculture. It has a unique position as a service provider for the dairy and farming industries. Analytical services are provided within chemistry, microbiology and veterinary serology.
Steins runs highly specialised and automated laboratories in Denmark and Sweden. In addition, the company has been established in Poland since 2002. Steins employs more than 180 employees and generated revenues of over EUR 15 million in 2005.
One year ago, Eurofins already acquired the environmental laboratory of Steins. With the acquisition of the remaining and larger food part of Steins, Eurofins has strengthened its position as the clear market leader in laboratory testing in Scandinavia with over 700 employees in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
