Opportunities in Life Science Molecules: Global Partnership Summit
An Executive Summit designed to assist participants become global players in the growing Life science industry through knowledge and business facilitation
Last year saw the participation of 15 international companies and over 30 corporate and research heads from India. The three days of the summit provided this gathering ample opportunity to interact with each other and talk business at leisure. Independent meetings were arranged between Indian and International companies, facilitated by Frost & Sullivan. This high profile summit has resulted in a substantial number of commercial partnerships, and some are in the process of being completed, both at strategic level and investor level.
According to Frost & Sullivan, it is clearly evident that the global life sciences industry is on the anvil of 'interesting' times, a future full of unprecedented levels of collaboration. With global revenues for custom synthesis and manufacturing expected to grow to $168 billion by 2009, there is incredible opportunity for life science companies across the globe to enter into strategic partnerships with companies in India and leverage the advantage of their inherent strengths in low cost manufacturing, good technical knowledge and process synthesis skills, and excellent scientific pool.
Frost & Sullivan recognizes this business paradigm that promises to alter permanently the way this industry does business. The Global Partnership Summit 2006 in Goa brings together luminaries from the International and Indian corporate world to identify the immense opportunities that await, as a result of this unfolding.
Some of the key highlights of this year's summit include:
- Presentations on strategic issues affecting the industry today (and those that are expected to affect in future) by global leaders, covering a broad range of areas like custom manufacturing of APIs/Intermediates, discovery chemistry and R&D outsourcing, M&A trends, IP issues in India, cross border partnerships with US, EU, Japan and Latin America, comparison of doing business with India and China, and many more.
- Panel discussions on specific topics where industry experts share their knowledge, followed by interactive question and answer sessions.
- An interactive case study cum growth workshop in biologics and bio-specialties, aimed at knowledge exchange, decision making, building successful alliances, etc.
- Best Practices in the Indian pharmaceutical intermediates industry, where specific players within the intermediates space who emerge as winners, will be recognized during an Awards ceremony.
All topics that are to be discussed at the summit have been decided after thorough interaction and feedback from industry participants, both Indian and International. Apart from staying at the summit venue for the entire period of the conference, participating delegates all get to receive CD compilations of all presentations that will be made at the summit.
With an expected participation of over 25 global companies (many of whom have already confirmed) and almost 60 decision makers from the Indian life science community, the summit proves to be an ideal networking platform to talk shop and strike business deals with leading pharmaceutical, fine chemical and biotech companies in India and abroad.
