Thar Technologies Opens European Office, Expanding SFC Offering Abroad

15-Mar-2006 - Germany

Thar Technologies, Inc., provider of supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) systems spanning from analytical to preparative to process scale, announced that it opened the European headquarters of its SFC division in Berlin. Thar Technologies Europe, GmbH, will supply SFC solutions to the European pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical and natural products markets.

"SFC is an environmentally friendly technology and our goal is to encourage more chemists in new geographies to 'go green' by switching to SFC," said Todd Palcic, Vice President of Thar's Instruments Division. "Our 300% growth over the past few years in Europe has prompted the need for on-the-ground sales, service and support for our European customers. We look forward to continued, rapid expansion in these markets, and to hiring more people."

Sabine Wischnack, a chemist with several years experience in business development and HPLC, has been hired to run the German office and grow its staff to support Thar's expanding European customer base. Berlin was chosen for its combination of scientific talent, pharmaceutical infrastructure, affordable office/lab space and access to domestic and international airports. In addition to its Pittsburgh and Berlin locations, Thar has an office in India.
