Biophage announces development of a new platform designed for the rapid selective capture and enrichment of bacteria
Biophage Pharma Inc. announced that it is developing a novel platform for the selective isolation and concentration of bacteria based on the unique properties of natural phages from the proprietary phage bank of Biophage. The BacTrapping(R) system will be used for the selective capture of bacteria in a contaminated sample. This system can be used as a stand-alone system or in tandem with our PDS(R) Biosensor.
The BacTrapping(R) system will have a wide range of potential applications. The most obvious applications will be in water safety, food and feed quality and safety, homeland security and in the medical field where protecting against even small number of bacteria infiltration is important (i.e., blood and stem cell banks).
