LION bioscience Teams with HP to Extend SRS Data Integration onto HP's 64-bit Linux Platform

23-Feb-2005

LION bioscience announced it has teamed with HP to extend its range of Linux-supported platforms for SRS to the life sciences. LION will optimize its SRS technology to take advantage of the speed of HP Integrity servers. With the launch of SRS 8.1 in February 2005, SRS will support the HP Integrity Linux platform based on 64-bit Intel® Itanium®2 processors.

As a result of a customer survey LION conducted last year, it is clear that the Linux open-source operating system on a 64-bit architecture is the platform of choice for the future. This indicated to LION that the technology was mature and now is the appropriate time to make these platforms available for customers, ensuring they can select the right hardware for the coming years.
