The European Biotech Crossroads
Back in Lille for 2005
The European Biotech Crossroads Selection Committee - constituted by representatives from across France and from a range of scientific and trade organisations, including Biovision - awarded organisation of the 2005 event to the city of Lille. This edition will mark the start of the "biennial rendezvous" principle: from now on, the capital of the Nord-Pas de Calais region will host the event every other year. This will:
- help perpetuate the event and further boost its development on the European level.
- anchor the Crossroads within the calendar of international events for biotech specialists.
- capitalize on experience of organising the event, created in 1997 by the French Ministry of Research and which has taken place in a different city every year since then.
The 2005 European Biotech Crossroads will continue to base its organisation around three major features:
- a 3-track seminar programme (science, business and the economy, training and careers)
- the trade show
- the business convention.
This year, the event will also incorporate a recruitment convention.
The vocation of the Crossroads is to bring together all the different communities that make up the biotechnology sector: biotech companies, start-up projects, students, researchers, public sector research institutions, large companies from the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, agrifood and environment markets, bioclusters, science & technology parks, bio-incubators, regulatory authorities, local authorities and regional and national governments.
