Winners of the 2004 Life Science Industry Awards to be Announced December 6th
The awards recognize those life science suppliers with the best solution in 12 separate product categories as well as suppliers that are "best-in-class" in six customer communications and support categories, including: print catalog, customer service, technical support, Web site, sales representatives and print advertisements.
More than 3,000 scientists from around the world were surveyed by BioInformatics, LLC and cast their votes for the companies that have made the greatest contributions to life science technology in the past year.
"We're honored to have been chosen by The Scientist to organize this year's voting," said Bill Kelly, President of BioInformatics, LLC. "Life scientists recognize the important role that their suppliers play in advancing biological research and drug discovery. While we conduct private surveys like this for our clients on a daily basis, it's refreshing to publicly acknowledge the contributions of companies that exemplify cutting-edge innovation and customer support."
The Scientist tasked BioInformatics, LLC with developing a survey methodology that would ensure complete accuracy and fairness in selecting the winners. BioInformatics created a 31-question survey that went beyond "top-of-mind" responses and probed for the elements that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Based on the survey results, the top three finalists in each of the following categories-a total of 18 different companies-will be announced in the November 8, 2004 issue of The Scientist magazine:
* Cell biology kits and reagents
* Cell biology instrumentation
* Cell culture media, equipment and reagents
* Expression analysis products
* High throughput screening and analysis systems
* Image analysis systems
* Instrumentation for genomic analysis
* Instrumentation for protein analysis
* Nucleic acid purification and analysis products
* Protein purification and analysis products
* RNAi products
* Software
* Print catalog
* Customer service
* Technical support
* Web site
* Sales representatives
* Print advertisements
To honor these top companies for their outstanding performance and present the awards to the winners, The Scientist and BioInformatics will host an evening cocktail reception on December 6th at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Hotel, which will coincide with the American Society of Cell Biology Meeting.
