Caliper Life Sciences and Promega Introduce Validated Automation Protocols for Caliper's Sciclone Liquid Handling Workstations

25-Aug-2004

Caliper Life Sciences, Inc., in collaboration with Promega Corporation, announced that it has integrated all of the Promega SV 96 sample preparation methods into its Caliper Sciclone ALH 3000 Workstation, including kits for genomic DNA purification, PCR clean-up, plasmid purification and RNA isolation. The automated methods, which were designed and optimized by application scientists from both Promega and Caliper Life Sciences, save time for customers who would otherwise need to design, develop and test such methods on their own.

"We are excited to offer our customers a new set of turn-key solutions that combine our leading expertise in liquid handling and laboratory automation technology with Promega industry-standard reagents and kits," commented Joe Fredette, Caliper's Marketing Manager for Automated Liquid Handling Products.

"By preloading the methods we have developed together, Caliper and Promega offer scientists the convenience and increased productivity of ready-to-use methods for the most demanded nucleic acid applications, combined with the technical support depth of each company," said Promega Scientific Applications Manager Dan Kephart, Ph.D.
