Axaron Bioscience enters into a cooperation agreement with the RZPD German Resource Center for Genome Research
Combined Know-how for Cell-type Specific Expression Profiling
Heidelberg, Germany. The RZPD German Resource Center for Genome Research, Berlin, has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Heidelberg based biotechnology company Axaron Bioscience AG. The aim of this cooperation is to combine Axaron´s Axaminer(TM) cell-type specific Expression profiling technology with RZPD´s services based on Affymetrix GeneChip® expression arrays. Customers will benefit from the integrated and cost effective service capabilities of both parties. Axaron and RZPD aim to attract new customers in sectors of drug discovery and development companies by co-marketing their services in future.
RZPD is an authorized Affymetrix partner, which provides Affymetrix services to customers throughout Europe. Axaron provides the Axaminer(TM) service for gene expression profiling of specific cell types from complex tissues and organs. The Axaminer(TM) platform is comprised of four integrated modules: specific cell labeling, automated cell isolation using laser microdissection, isolation and amplification of tiny amounts of RNA, as well as subsequent expression profiling. Axaron offers its Axaminer(TM) technology as a customer tailored solution, which enables unique cell-type specific insights to molecular processes hitherto not possible with existing analytical methods.
