Roche Diagnostics Named Best in People Development
Company Debuts on Training Magazine's Top 100 'Best Lists'
Roche knows that people drive its business and has created an environment where people can continually develop their capabilities and are rewarded for their individual and collective contributions. An individual development plan combined with on-the-job and formal training opportunities are state-of-the- art and powerful approaches to people development.
"Roche Diagnostics' development programs demonstrate an impressive connection to its business goals and performance," said Tammy Galvin, Editor in Chief, Training magazine. "As the highest ranking new company on this year's list, Roche Diagnostics is a supreme example of a company that fosters people's learning, development and relationships within the company. Through its comprehensive workforce development programs, Roche clearly understands that the ultimate prosperity of the organization is directly related to the extent that people are encouraged to develop their own potential. What's more, Roche does a phenomenal job of ensuring that all of those development initiatives are tied to real business results."
Over the last several years, Roche Diagnostics has invested in training and development programs for its 3,500 people who are located in Indianapolis and remote locations throughout the U.S. In 2003, Roche launched a new learning system, titled "myLEARNINGlink" to broaden the scope and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its training and development opportunities. This recognition reinforces Roche's outstanding work in continuing market leadership through leveraging innovative training and development as a foundation of its business strategy.
Roche's Training 100 award began with a nomination by one of Roche's training providers, Acclivus Corporation, who developed a specialized field customer service training program called R3 Service(R) (results, relationships and revenue) for Roche's Service organization. Acclivus nominated Roche Diagnostics because of its unparalleled dedication in introducing and continued support of the successful completion of R3 Service(R).
"We are thrilled to receive the nomination and award that honors our commitment to investing in our people," said Raymond Young, Jr., Vice President of Roche Diagnostics Services. "This commendation also points to our dedication to provide exceptional service and satisfaction for our customers. Roche's training and development programs provide value and are vitally important to our company, our customers and the individual, covering
all facets of our business."
The ranking for the Training Top 100 is based on factors such as:
* Financial investment in employee development,
* Type and scope of training and development programs provided
* Quality of programs, and
* How closely development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
