CRL.Medinet Expands Global Central Laboratory Services to Japan

CRL.Medinet, the global central laboratory network based in Kansas/ USA and the Eurofins subsidiary and co-founder of CRL.Medinet, Analytico Medinet in Breda/ The Netherlands, recently formalized their relationship with SBS Inc. (Tokyo/ Japan), one of the leading clinical trial service providers in Japan.

With this agreement, CRL.Medinet now provides its internationally operating customers from the pharmaceutical industry also in Japan and the neighbouring regions with fully standardised and specialised safety testing services for their global clinical trials. The Japanese drug market is assessed to be the second largest market worldwide.

SBS was established in 1972 as a spin-off from the Tokyo University and provides clinical services to Japan's largest hospitals, medical centres and research laboratories. The SBS laboratory is located near Tokyo and Narita Airport and operates more than 30 local offices throughout Japan.

CRL.Medinet was founded in 1996 in Europe (Breda/ The Netherlands) and the USA (Kansas City, KS). During the past years, the laboratory network for phase I-IV clinical trials testing expanded to Australia (Sydney, 1997), South Africa (Cape town, 1997) and Japan (Tokyo, 2003). The CRL.Medinet laboratory network consists of five fully standardised laboratories using global Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and global reference ranges. As all CRL.Medinet laboratories, SBS Inc. participates in the same external Quality Assurance and proficiency testing programmes and is accredited to all relevant quality standards (i.e. CAP and ISO15189 TÜV).
