Bio-Rad and Australian Proteome Analysis Facility renew strategic collaboration

Partners to continue longstanding relationship, develop new technology to support proteomics research

01-Jul-2003

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., a multinational manufacturer and distributor of life science research products and clinical diagnostics announced today that it has renewed a partnership agreement with the Australian proteome analysis Facility Ltd. (APAF) to exchange technology and collaborate on the development of new proteomics research and training tools. This continues a successful partnership that has resulted in the co-development of innovative products that are used in Bio-Rad's ProteomeWorksTM system and enables APAF to expand its bioinformatics capabilities and its bacterial pathogenesis discovery program.

"This partnership combines the strength, knowledge and expertise of leading proteomics innovators to provide scientists with access to advanced technology for protein identification," said Bio-Rad Vice President and Group Manager of Life Science, Brad Crutchfield.

"APAF is excited about this new collaboration with Bio-Rad as it aims to develop novel products that break the current bottlenecks associated with proteomics workflows," said Professor Mark Baker, APAF's newly appointed Director. "New developments will lead to quantum leaps in the depth of the discovery afforded by existing proteomic array technologies."
