Dr Allison Jeynes-Ellis appointed to the BioCity Scotland Board
Over twenty years industry experience as an oncology specialist have equipped Dr Jeynes-Ellis with a unique insight into the complexities of the life sciences sector. Her early career within the NHS led to medical positions with, Ciba Pharmaceuticals, Bristol Myers Squibb as Director of Oncology and Wyeth, UK and Ireland as Medical Director. In 2005 Dr Jeynes-Ellis became an independent pharmaceutical consultant before moving to the ABPI in 2009. She has subsequently returned to consulting, working across the sector, allowing her to explore new opportunities such as that offered by BioCity Scotland.
As a Board member, Dr Jeynes-Ellis will support Chairman Dr Louis J Nisbet and recently-appointed Managing Director Fraser Black in the population of the 23 acre site with new and fast-growing bioscience and life sciences companies. BioCity Scotland has already welcomed seven companies to the site and has the support of six commercial partners including lawyers, accountants and intellectual property advisers. A variety of visitors has already passed through the busy campus including HRH The Princess Royal, international business delegations, and local school students eager to learn more about a career in science.
