Prof. Jürgen Kohlhase New Director Human Genetics of Centogene
Internationally the group operates under the name of Centogene as an active global leader in the field of molecular diagnostics for Rare Diseases. The German market will be serviced by the Center of Human Genetics Freiburg.
Prof. Jürgen Kohlhase is a Board Certified (Germany) Specialist in Human Genetics and honorary Professor for Human Genetics at the University of Freiburg. After graduating from Medical School, he obtained scientific and medical training from 1993 to 1995 at the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen and the Institute for Human Genetics at the University of Göttingen, Germany. Between 1995 and 1996 he worked as medical resident in Human Genetics at the Universities in Gießen and Göttingen. In 2002, he received his Board Certificate in Human Genetics and worked as an assistent professor at the University of Göttingen. From 2003 to 2006 he was Head of Department at the Institute for Human Genetics and Anthropology at the University of Freiburg. In 2006 he founded the Center of Human Genetics Freiburg where he acts as lab director and clinical specialist.
