Sysmex establishes a subsidiary in Kenya
Strengthening business foundations in East Africa
Sysmex Corporation has announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Sysmex East Africa Ltd., in Kenya to promote business expansion in emerging countries as part of the company’s growth strategy. Going forward, Sysmex will strengthen its sales and customer care systems in nine East African countries, including Kenya, by direct sales and by collaborating with local distributors through Sysmex subsidiaries in South Africa and Kenya.
This will enable Sysmex to expand its product portfolio, allowing the company to better meet the needs and realities in East Africa, and to further accelerate its business expansion into the African market.
Sysmex established a new subsidiary in Kenya in order to strengthen its business foundations in East Africa, a region expected to achieve high levels of market growth within Africa. Direct sales through local subsidiaries will enable Sysmex to promote the introduction of products that meet the needs of local customers while also providing globally standardised, high-quality customer care and training as well as a stable supply of products.
Going forward, Sysmex will strengthen its sales and customer care structures, promoting market development that leads to improved medical quality, while contributing to the expansion of medical infrastructure and improved access to local medical care in emerging and developing countries. Thus, Sysmex not only supports the sustainable development goal of good health and wellbeing, but also takes another step towards the value creation along the entire patient’s healthcare journey in Africa.
The African continent accounts for approximately 18% of the world's population, and its population is expected to continue growing in the future. Furthermore, healthcare expenditure is also increasing steadily in line with economic growth, and further expansion of the healthcare market is expected.
Sysmex established its first subsidiary in Africa in South Africa in 2006, followed by ones in Burkina Faso in 2013, in Ghana in 2015, and then in Egypt in 2018. The establishment of the subsidiary in Kenya will be the fifth base on the African continent, strengthening the company’s sales and customer care structures in the region.
