30-Oct-2009 - Turkey

Devgen nv and Dogal A.S. announced the approval by the Turkish Ministry of agriculture for the use of Devgen's nematicide Devguard® in eggplant and pepper under protective cover .

The product will be launched for use in eggplant and peppers to allow growers to use the product during this season, which just set off. This approval comes on top of the regulatory approval received earlier for the use of Devguard® in tomatoes and cucumbers under protective cover. Devguard® is available on the Turkish market since August this year.

"Until today, Turkish undercover eggplant and pepper growers lacked a nematicide which they could use through the growing season, without residue problem in the final product. We are now pleased to launch such a nematicides which fulfils all the expectations of growers and consumers while protecting their crops against nematode damage throughout the full growing season," says Ferhan Tezcan, CEO of Dogal A.S.

"We now have the regulatory approval for the use of Devguard® on four of the most important vegetable crops grown under protective cover", says Thierry Bogaert, CEO of Devgen nv. "This approval is a confirmation of the applicability of our product to a wider range of crops and of the broad spectrum of opportunities that exist for the product."
