Celesio acquires Belgian wholesaler Laboratoria Flandria
Celesio has acquired the Belgian pharmaceutical wholesaler Laboratoria Flandria NV. The acquisition is an addition to the existing network of Celesio’s Belgian subsidiaries Pharma Belgium, Lloydspharma, Dirk Raes and pharmexx Belgium and will enable Celesio to offer new services.
“Laboratoria Flandria is a strong market player with state of the art facilities, a good reputation and a solid customer base. Together with our wholesaler Pharma Belgium we will achieve significant synergies which will further strengthen Celesio’s position in the Belgian pharmaceutical wholesale market”, Fritz Oesterle, CEO of Celesio, emphasises. The acquisition makes Celesio the second biggest pharmaceutical wholesaler in Belgium.
Celesio expects to utilise further synergies and to offer new services through the cooperation between the Celesio subsidiaries Pharma Belgium, Celesio’s pharmacy chain Lloydspharma, Dirk Raes, a provider of cold chain logistics for pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmexx Belgium, a leading contract sales organisation for the pharmaceutical industry.
The acquisition of Laboratoria Flandria is subject to approval by the Belgian competition authority.
