Corporate History

The company was founded in 1958 by Samson Chowdhury along with three of his friends as a private firm. It went public in 1994 and is currently listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

Factories

Square Pharmaceuticals has three GMP facilities in Bangladesh.

The first factory located in Pabna started operations in 1958. The second, known as the "API Unit" began production in 1995. The third unit located 50 kilometers north of Dhaka has been in operation since 2002. This facility is geared oral capsules and tablets. The company plans to use this factory as part of its export strategy.

The company's annual turnover exceed $300 million[2]. It currently exports to 21 countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
