Quanah Crossland StampsQuanah Crossland Stamps is the U.S. Commissioner of the Administration for Native Americans (ANA), a program office within the Department of Health and Human Services. Additional recommended knowledgeStamps has a bachelors and a masters degree from George Mason University. Previously she had worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Small Business Administration. When she was nominated in 2002 for her current position, she was president of QCS International. Stamps is a Republican and a member of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate on November 14, 2002. Stamps chairs the Department of Health and Human Services Intradepartmental Council on Native American Affairs (ICNAA) and manages a $45 million budget that promotes social and economic development, Language Preservation, and Environmental Regulatory Enhancement activities for Native American communities in Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and within the lower 48 states.
