Per-protocol analysis

In epidemiology, Per-protocol (PP) analysis is opposite to the Intention to treat analysis. It is a strategy of analysis in which only patients who complete the entire clinical trial or other procedure analyzed, not like the Intention to treat analysis which also including the patients who dropped out.

Per-protocol analysis is also called "On treatment analysis".

The Per-protocol analysis is useful when the researcher is interested in knowing the real efficacy of a drug[1]
