Orobanche uniflora

Orobanche uniflora, commonly known as Naked Broomrape, is an annual parasitic herb. It grows to height of five centimeters, and has short (up to 1 centimeter) scaly leaves, and yellowish-white or purple flowers, that can be up to 3.5 centimeters long. The flowers grow singularly on tall stalks. Naked Broomrape is common to moist areas in the Pacific Northwest, and since it contains no chlorophyll, it has to get its nutrients from other plants, such as saxifrage and sunflowers.[1]
