Ollier

Ollier is a type of enchondroma. It is a nonhereditary disorder, which usually presents in childhood. In radiographs, streaks of low-density bone can be seen projection through the diaphyses into the epiphyses of the long bones. The cause of this is ectopic cartilage deposits. This disease can cause asymmetric dwarfism. The most common presentation of this type of enchondroma is in the hands and feet.

The disorder is also sometimes referred to as Ollier's disease; named after French surgeon Louis Léopold Ollier (1830-1900).[1] A similar disorder called Maffucci's syndrome (named after Angelo Maffucci) is enchondroma with multiple angiomas.
