Maculospinal reflex

The maculospinal reflex is a reflex in the human spine.

Linear acceleration is the sensory stimulus for the horizontally orientated macula of the utricle and the vertical macula of the saccule. Linear acceleration evokes the maculospinal reflex. This reflex influences the musculature of the trunk and limbs via the anterior horn cells of the spinal cord to ensure that the position of the body remains stable during linear movement.
