Haplogroup L2 (mtDNA)
In human genetics, Haplogroup L2 is a human mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) haplogroup. Haplogroup L2 is native to sub-Saharan Africa, where it is present in approximately one third of all people. It is believed to have arisen approximately 70,000 years ago from the line of haplogroup L1. SubdivisionsL2 has four main subgroups: L2a, L2b, L2c, and L2d.
