Florence WambuguFlorence Muringi Wambugu (b. August 23, 1953) is a plant pathologist and virologist. She is known for her advocacy of using biotechnology to increase food production in Africa. Additional recommended knowledgeShe received her Bachelor of Science in botany from the University of Nairobi, her Master's in pathology from North Dakota State University, and her PhD from the University of Bath. In 1981 she received an award from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture and has also won a Crop science award. She has worked for Monsanto where she also did post-doctoral work. She is a single mother with three children.
