David SalingerDavid Salinger qualified as a trichologist in 1973 with the Institute of Trichologists in England. During 1974 – 75, he worked at the University of Southern California as the Subject-Matter Expert in developing an educational program in hair and scalp diseases. Once completed, the course was given to the International Association of Trichologists (I.A.T.) to administer, and he was appointed Executive Director of the I.A.T. in 1975. Since that time, he has helped to train students throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Singapore, India, South Korea and South Africa. He recently launched the course at the Mumbai Educational Trust College in Mumbai, India. Additional recommended knowledgeHe was the first person in the world to use the amino acid tyrosine to treat such autoimmune problems as alopecia areata and psoriasis.[1] He has written two books that are used in colleges throughout the world - "The IAT Guide to Hair Loss" and "Picture Guide to Scalp and Hair Problems",[1] and has also co-authored the book "Simplified Hairdressing Science". He presently consults in Sydney and Adelaide at his clinics - the Australian Trichology Centres. He has a B. Commerce degree from the University of Birmingham, U.K., and a Diploma in Personnel Management from the London School of Economics, University of London. Sources
