Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of EuropeThe Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) is the professional body of European interventional radiologists. The Society, which has its headquarters in Vienna, Austria, was founded in 1985 and currently comprises approximately 1,300 members from Europe and overseas. The Society’s objective is to provide continuing education and training to physicians and scientists with an active interest in Interventional radiology or cardiovascular imaging techniques. Additional recommended knowledgeCIRSE organises an annual congress, scientific meetings and other educational activities. It publishes a bimonthly medical journal entitled Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) as well as a biannual newsletter. The CIRSE FoundationCIRSE’s educational arm, the CIRSE Foundation, is an independent non-profit foundation, promoting research and education in the field of cardiovascular and Interventional radiology. Its mission is to fund education, basic science, clinical research and technical assessments of developments in the field of Interventional radiology, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and quality of life.
