Beryllium hydroxide
Beryllium hydroxide is one of the few amphoteric metal hydroxides, capable of being an acid or a base under different conditions. For example, it dissolves in sodium hydroxide solution to give a colourless solution of sodium beryllate: Additional recommended knowledge2NaOH(aq) + Be(OH)2(s) → Na2Be(OH)4(aq) With acids, beryllium hydroxide acts as a typical base, and beryllium salts are formed.
