The BBCH-scale (leafy vegetables not forming heads) identifies the phenological development stages of leafy vegetables not forming heads (spinach = Spinacia oleracea, loosehead lettuce = Lactuca sativa var. crispa, kale = Brassica oleracea var. sabellica). It is a plant species specific version of the BBCH-scale.
