Alzheimer Society of Ontario
The Alzheimer Society of Ontario is a charitable organization that strives to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and to promote research. It was founded in 1983 and is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Additional recommended knowledgeIt consists of 39 member chapters spaced throughout Ontario that provide:
The society's vision is a world without Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The Alzheimer Society of Ontario receives some funding from the Ontario government as part of the government's "Strategy for Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementia." The society provided financial support to the University of Toronto for the creation of the university's Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases, and continues to invest in research at the CRND.
