Chemieschule Dr. Elhardt GmbH

The tireless creative energy of Dr. Erwin Elhardt and the dedication of his staff soon made the school one of the largest and best known in the Federal Republic. Since its thoroughly trained graduates became indispensable in research and industry, the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture granted state recognition to the Dr. Erwin Elhardt Chemistry School as early as 1956. The school grew larger and larger, and the temporary building in Anzinger Strasse could no longer meet the requirements. Dr. Erwin Elhardt therefore pushed for the construction of a new, modern school building in Ludmillastrasse. After great efforts, the new building, which has 11 large laboratories, lecture halls and classrooms, could be occupied in 1979. With the move, the management of the school passed to the son of the principal, Dr. Martin Elhardt, who has been leading the school's fortunes ever since.

In 1991, the new training branch of the environmental technical assistant UTA was established. Thus, the training meets the modern requirements resulting from the protection and preservation of the environment. Through special teaching content, the environmental technical assistants learn everything they need in environmentally relevant areas of operation.

In 2006, in line with the increasing importance of biology, biotechnology and biochemistry, to which the Chemistry School had already turned by introducing the focus on biochemistry in 1964, the new profession of Biological Technical Assistant BTA was introduced. Especially in the Munich area with the many institutes of the two universities, Max-Planck-Institutes, GSF etc. there is a great demand for well-trained technical assistants. The Chemistry School Dr. Erwin Elhardt will be able to meet this demand in the future as well through the intensive efforts of its teaching staff.
