Why DORNIER LabTech Systems became a pipetting specialist
The aim of any pipetting robot is to provide reliable results and to achieve an outstanding performance. DORNIER LabTech Systems, a 100% daughter company of the German manufacturer DORNIER with tenth of years of experience in building robotics equipment has taken care to provide a solution leading to the recently released pipetting system, the PIRO®. Built by experienced engineers, the PIRO® is providing a solid hardware functionality and design.
With DORNIER’s long term standing relationships with suppliers in Germany and close surroundings, the PIRO® is equipped with parts proven to be reliable. With an advanced firmware development and state of the art electronic appliances the PIRO® results in a vibration free pipetting robot and with a noise level below 50 dB, it is below office noise allowance and with a power consumption of 60 W the PIRO® provides an energy saving performance.
While designing the PIRO®, the engineers took great care of an easy maintenance of the PIRO®. Due to the electronic parts used, the PIRO® does not need a fan which therefore does not need to be serviced. A service is reduced to a minimum of actions like greasing the belts and axis, replacing the pipetting head and the checking of the 0-Point adjustment, tasks which can be fulfilled within a short time.
The PIRO® has been designed for the needs of qPCR laboratories allowing versatility, precision, reproducibility, and safety combined with an intuitive drag and drop software for easy use and setup of reactions. Even though the PIRO® has a small bench top footprint, it allows for 16 positions to be used. Setting up 384-well plates without running out of tips, pipetting primary tubes, using the newly developed software features, or interchangeable pipetting heads are just a few features integrated in the PIRO®.
With the development of the PIRO®, DORNIER LabTech Systems provides a pipetting system with a reliable hardware and newly developed software solution to facilitate the needs of any laboratory.
