The Seracell group of companies is based in Rostock and has been an innovative provider in the field of stem cell and tissue technology since 2002. In November 2008, Seracell launched a new offering for the individual storage of stem cells from umbilical cord blood. As a certified cord blood bank, it operates on the basis of the highest quality standards (EU-GMP standard). Seracell has four state-of-the-art clean room laboratories and a certified cryogenic storage facility for long-term storage of frozen cell preparations and umbilical cord blood. In its final stage of development, the Seracell cryostorage facility will have a capacity of up to 240,000 preparations. Seracell will then operate the largest facility of its kind in Europe.
