TaconicArtemis has developed the most versatile technology platform in mouse genetics and functional genomics. The company offers custom made genetically engineered mouse models and mouse embryonic stem cells for use at various stages of the drug discovery process or in academic research. Models produced include knock out and 'humanisation' platforms, as well as inducible/reversible RNAi knock down models, and ASKA models for the inducible and reversible knock down of kinases. Taconic Farms Inc. one of the world's largest suppliers of laboratory animals, recently purchased a majority share holding in TaconicArtemis. This has significantly expanded TaconicArtemis' commercialisation possibilities through a closer link to Taconic's existing sales force in the EU and the USA. In addition both companies are optimising their services through the best use of synergies, to allow researchers faster and more complete access to research models.
