Proteomika was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of Progenika S.A., with the objective of becoming a leader company in the Proteomics field.

The aim of the company is to reach the highest level of research and development capabilities in the rapidly evolving field of Proteomics - which will complement the high-throughput Genomics technologies developed by Progenika. Proteomika is actively involved with in-house Discovery projects in Cancer and Psychiatric diseases; these projects are aimed at the identification and clinical validation of diagnostic and prognostic disease markers as well as the identification and functional validation of potential therapeutic targets, to be used in collaborative Drug screening approaches. Proteomika has also established research collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies, aimed at the discovery and validation of non-invasive diagnosis and pharmacoproteomics markers in serum and urine and at the discovery of therapeutic targets and new drugs directed against them.
