We at the PMT Powder Maker Group are specialists in the field of dry fine and ultra-fine grinding of organic materials and soft to medium-hard industrial minerals with a high aspect ratio. Finely ground industrial minerals such as talc, mica, graphite, zeolite, wollastonite, baryte or iron mica are the main components that determine the properties of plastics, paper, paints and varnishes, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and many other everyday products.

In addition to the type of material used, its grain size and grain shape, such as the aspect ratio, often have a significant influence on the properties of the respective end product. Since users are making ever higher demands on the quality and properties of their products, product developers are under increasing pressure to develop appropriate materials to meet these requirements. For this reason, increasingly high demands are also being placed on industrial minerals.

In this area, we have set new standards with our spiral jet mills in terms of energy efficiency and product fineness, right up to the limit of dry grinding.

The machines developed in-house, such as the spiral jet mills or the fine classifier , are used on the one hand in customer-specific solutions in the field of micronized products and on the other hand in our own contract grinding plant .

All units have the integrated dynamic classifier in common, the so-called rotor-motor unit . Classifier discs made of a high-strength aluminum alloy are mounted on the high-frequency motor developed in-house, which allows peripheral speeds of up to 190 m/s.

This means that fineness's down to the low micrometer range and even below 1 µm, depending on the material, can be achieved.

The newly developed EEU system "Enhanced Energy Utilization" has reduced specific energy consumption by up to 30% compared to other fine grinding plants.

For customers who have a short-term capacity bottleneck or who cannot yet accurately assess the market potential of a new product, we also offer the option of grinding larger quantities of your raw materials to the desired fineness on our industrial-size spiral jet mill in our contract grinding plant and packaging them according to customer requirements
