Sterile medical gloves protect patient and user. During an operation, however, glove perforations very often occur, which reduce the protective capacity. In many specialist departments, gloves are therefore worn twice to reduce the risk of contamination and infection.

This practice is time-consuming and is associated with loss of comfort, poor tactile feel and double packaging waste. We have addressed this problem. Smarterials Technology is a young medtech company with high competence in inorganic chemistry, surface functionalization and process technology. We will launch an innovative surgical glove with several unique selling points that has disruptive character. The patent application has been filed.

A unique, safety-optimized material structure integrates a perforation indicator and combines the properties and advantages of single-layer gloves with the benefit of double gloving – Two-in-One.
